“Everything and the kitchen sink”
April 12, 2012 …. ilovepeas09 ,waretown
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last week because we were seeing Bruce at the Izod center two nights in a row and didnt see the point in driving home and driving back. The hotel was FANTASTIC! One of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at! The room was spacious with a good sized bathroom comfy bed and a full kitchen complete with a dishwasher and garbage disposal… not that we used it… but it was still pretty cool! There is a DVD player in the room so feel free to bring your own or they have a free rental at the front desk. Also they have grills in the parking lot if you feel like cooking a steak! The staff was friendly and attentive… I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

The staff were outstanding! We were there for a Tony Robbins Seminar and they could not have been more accomadating. They went out of their way to get us to and from the seminar on time in a complimentary shuttle at all hours of the morning and nigth. (Conference was at the Meadowlands.) They even sent the Shuttle to take us to Newark Airport Monday morning even thought this was not their typical schedule. The room was clean and roomy and well stocked. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.Stayed March 2012, traveled on business
“Pleasantly Surprised, Great Hotel!”

I planned a trip to NYC with my husband and 2 boys and really wanted to stay in the city. Unfortunately, my budget didn’t allow for that so I began to search hotels near the city that I could afford. I called a few hotels in the area to find out about transportation to the city and decided on the Candlewood mainly because of how nice and helpful the guy at the front desk was in comparison to some of the other hotels that I called. The room is kind of small but it has a full kitchen and was very clean. They have a complimentary shuttle that takes you to and from the Secaucus Junction train station where we took less than a 10 min. train ride into Penn Station in the city. The laundry room is free. I used it a couple of times although I thought the washer and dryer could have been a little cleaner. They have business center with a computer and a small gym as well as a shop with a few snacks. The only thing that I didnt like is that there is nothing walking distance to this hotel (restaurants, etc.). But I did find a good mall and restaurants as well as Walmart a short drive away. I am planning a trip to NYC again in Dec. and plan on staying at the Candlewood. I would definitely recommend it for the great amenities, especially to families traveling on a budget with kids. Having a full kitchen is a plus! Overall I think that if you like fancy hotes, this isn’t the place for you. But if you are looking for a clean, nice hotel with great amenities, then you should definitely try it out. Would you recommend this hotel to a friend? Yes

Rooms are good, impressive facilities (microwave, kitchen and laundry). Location is a challenge…but you have cab connectivity to the train station…
If you have business in NY… but want to save money…this is the best place. Would you recommend this hotel to a friend? Yes

Since I had previously stayed at another Candlewood Suites property that was just so-so, I didn’t expect much from my stay at the Candlewood in Secaucus. However, I’m pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised. In comparison to the room at the Jersey City property, which was very dated, the decor at the Secaucus property is nicely updated with wood flooring at the entry way, modern appliances and countertops in the kitchen and bathroom and comfortable bedding. The studio unit wasn’t very large, yet it was very comfortable. They did provide toiletries, which was unexpected and everything was very clean. I would definitely stay again. “New, clean, cheap and at 15 min from Time Square, can’t ask for more!”

I can’t believe it’s only ~100$ per night. In Manhattan, it starts at 3 times that price and rooms aren’t very clean. The hotel is new and clean. We went there to visit New York and it’s only at 15 min from Time Square by train. They pay taxi to go to Secaucus Junction (train station) from 6 to 9 AM and from 5 to 8 PM. Taxi is 7$ if you’re outside this range. Train is 8$ round trip to Penn Station. They clean the room once a week and there are even BBQ’s outside. Room is fully equiped to make food. Really a great place! Would you recommend this hotel to a friend? Yes
A true haven for 2 x Weary British Travellers caught up in Iceland Volcano Delay”
Hallse 10 contributions –UK-Apr 22, 2010 | Trip type: Friends getaway
My best friend and I took a 7 day trip of a lifetime to New York City but on the day we were due to return home to UK the Icelandic Volcano ash caused the airports to close. The Hotel we had booked in New York (which we were not happy with as unclean and unfriendly) charged an extortionate price for us to remain there and my friend and I took a chance on moving to New Jersey Candlewood Suites in Secaucus for the remaining 6 days until we could fly home.
I can not praise the staff (thank you especially to Jarrett) who could not help us enough, my friend has multiple sclerosis and was struggling we were both exhausted and the cleanliness, the praticalities, the peace and quiet and amenites available helped us to feel much more safe and secure. We were given great guidance by the hotel team.
The shuttle to the train station was simple – the train journey (one stop) to NYC simple, taxi drivers and people of New Jersey wereall really helpful and lovely to us.
We would thorougly recommend a stay at this hotel – in fact if we return to New York City again we will opt to stay out of the City and in this hotel, it states it is like a home from home and we would totally agree, that is how it felt to us.
Thank you Candlewood – it is an excellent hotel and team.

We are currently 1 week into a month+ long stay at the hotel and our experience has been wonderful so far. The gym and free laundry were a big plus, especially knowing we would have a long stay, compared to other facilities we looked at. We were also happy to be able to bring our pet. The front desk staff, especially Jarrett, have been knowledgable about the area and the property and always eager to help and make our stay as pleasant as possible. We were advised that the furniture (except the desk) is moveable- which really went a long way to allowing us to make the room work better for long-term needs. We are also very happy with the cleanliness of our room and of the facility as a whole. Overall, we would definately recommend Candlewood, especially for a long-term stay.
we stayed in March and the hotel didn’t have complimentary shuttles to the bus station. That was the only drawback since we had to drive to the bus station or pay the $7 cab fare. But once at the station, it is only a 10min trip into the city.
The rooms are new, clean and with many amenities. The hotel is easy to find. Would recommend this hotel.
is completed at Secaucus Junction although the $7 taxi ride was always ready and waiting.carparkaccess to George Washington Bridge/Bronx, West Orange). However, the immediate vicinity consists of highways, train tracks, and a salvage yard. Anyways, it’ll be even better once the fwyThis hotel is very new and central to our needs (Newark Airport/Linden, train access to Manhattan,
The hotel’s comp shuttle to the express train to Manhatten made site seeing almost too easy. A round trip ticket cost only 5 bucks. Hotel had free DVD’s and big flat screens for after we got back from the city. Free popcorn and free dvd’s! The friendly staff had expert knowledge of New York and public transportaion, so we didnt even have to drive!! huge plus. Having never been to New York before the staff was a blessing. They found all the coolest stuff for the family to do at a great value and the simplest possible way. The rooms were very clean. I would recommend this hotel to everyone that wants a great holiday in NYC for a great value.
Candlewood Suites Secaucus
This was a great hotel brand new, with easy access to NYC via NJ Transit Train. The room was very spacious and had a great full kitchen. The staff was nice and friendly from the moment we checked in. The beds were very comfortable. I stay at lots of hotel and this is definitely one of the best hotels I stayed…would stay again. Would recommend this to anyone, and honestly you could stay here for a fraction of the cost of staying in NYC and be just as convenient. Over all I give it an A+
I’ve spent a week at the Candlewood Suites Secaucus from 22nd of October to the 27th 2008. Despite arriving from the airport very late the reception was very quick in providing me with the key and allowing me to hit the sack without lenghtly check-in forms to fill in. The hotel is extremely clean and very nice. The train station… more
