Newlyweds Eric Mann and Brook Blew missed their paid-in-advance beach hotel vacation in Cancun – and today are out about $1,500 – because their dog ate Mann’s passport. Seriously. (Could you make up that excuse?)
MyFoxBoston.com recently reported on the Boston-area couple’s unfortunate honeymoon experience. It all started when their two-year-old basset hound Moses chewed on the passport instead of traditional fare, like slippers.
Their travel nightmare didn’t start immediately, according to the report.
Fortunately the photo and bar code remained intact and the couple was able to get through security at Logan Airport in Boston.
But once they reached Cancun, immigration officials there were apparently suspicious of the bite marks and sent the couple back home to Boston immediately. Adios. Dreams of margaritas on the white sand beaches of the Mayan Riviera were dashed… all because of Moses.
The couple tried to change the dates of their vacation or get a refund, according to TV report. But the online agency that they’d booked their trip through – TNT Vacations, an all-inclusive vacation packaging site – denied their request, the story says.
Now, thanks to Moses, they can’t afford to take another honeymoon.
